چکیده

The bidirectional 3[Formula: see text] method is an electrothermal technique that commonly used to obtain the thermal conductivity of materials such as liquids, biological samples, and pastes. In this work, epoxy-based adhesive was filled with monodisperse 10 μm polymethyl methacrylate spheres coated silver thin films (AgPS), a metallic network dominated transport formed through composite. conductive at different volume fractions AgPS. For 50 vol.% AgPS, corresponding 3.4 silver, [Formula: W m −1 K . results show strongly correlated AgPS fraction, while maintaining fraction far below commercial paste, which has typical filler 40 silver. work were compared measurements same material by other techniques, advantages disadvantages methods finally discussed.

Bidirectional Transport by Distinct Populations of COPI-Coated Vesicles

Electron microscope immunocytochemistry reveals that both anterograde-directed (proinsulin and VSV G protein) and retrograde-directed (the KDEL receptor) cargo are present in COPI-coated vesicles budding from every level of the Golgi stack in whole cells; however, they comprise two distinct populations that together can account for at least 80% of the vesicles budding from Golgi cisternae. Segr...

Anisotropic thermal transport in MOF-5 composites

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a new class of porous, crystalline materials with applications in the capture, storage, and separation of gasses. Although much effort has been devoted to understanding the properties of MOFs in powder form, in a realistic system the MOF media will likely be employed as dense compacts, such as pucks or pellets, to maximize volumetric efficiency. In these appl...

Thermal Transport in Graphene-Polymer Nanocomposites

Graphene-polymer nanocomposites have attracted considerable attention due to their unique properties, such as high thermal conductivity (~3000 W mK), mechanical stiffness (~ 1 TPa) and electronic transport properties. Relatively, the thermal performance of graphene-polymer composites has not been well investigated. The major technical challenge is to understand the interfacial thermal transport...

Silver bromide nanoparticle/polymer composites: dual action tunable antimicrobial materials.

We present a simple method of fabricating highly potent dual action antibacterial composites consisting of a cationic polymer matrix and embedded silver bromide nanoparticles. A simple and novel technique of on-site precipitation of AgBr was used to synthesize the polymer/nanoparticle composites. The synthesized composites have potent antibacterial activity toward both gram-positive and gram-ne...
